Today’s Topic - Why LinkedIn Is Winning (And Why It Will Keep Winning in 2026)

LinkedIn keeps changing, but the fundamentals for 2026 are getting clearer.

As we close out 2025 and head into 2026, one thing is becoming impossible to ignore:

There has never been a bigger opportunity to build real, meaningful relationships on LinkedIn, and most leaders are missing it.

While executives often obsess over impressions and virality, the real metric that matters is conversations because it turns into relationships, which drives revenue. LinkedIn is the only B2B channel where visibility compounds into trust, and trust compounds into opportunity.

A few numbers to really highlight what’s happening:

  • Only 1% of LinkedIn’s 1B+ users post at least once a month

  • There are 65M decision-makers active on the platform

  • 80% of B2B social leads originate on LinkedIn

  • 69% of marketers say hyper-targeting outperforms broad outreach

  • 141M people log in daily

This is the most underpriced attention in the B2B world, and it’s sitting in your inbox, your comments, and your content.

Most leaders just haven’t learned how to use it.

And you don’t need to post daily. Posting once a month for six months can generate measurable ROI.

As you plan for 2026, start with three simple prompts:

  1. What are your clients excited about?

  2. What insights are they sharing with you?

  3. What are you reading or learning right now, and what’s your take?

This is where relevance and authenticity live.

From Content → Signals → Conversations

LinkedIn works when you treat it as a conversation engine. This means treating every like, comment, or share, as a signal.

Your job is to turn those signals into engagement.

In practice:

  • Track who’s engaging with your content

  • Identify who falls in your ICP

  • Send a simple, thoughtful message acknowledging the interaction

This builds trust before you ever talk business.

Done consistently, this single workflow can generate more pipeline than any cold email sequence.

Your DMs Are More Powerful Than You Think

Most leaders underuse their DMs, or they use them incorrectly.

Here are high-trust ways to reach out:

  1. Focus on them, not you

  2. Invite them to an executive dinner, roundtable, or event

  3. Connect them with someone who could help them

  4. Add value based on something they recently posted

  5. Ask them to contribute to something you’re building

  6. Share a resource designed specifically for their challenges

When outreach is relationship-first, sales become a natural byproduct.

Now, some months you’ll book eight calls from LinkedIn. Other months you’ll get none.

That’s not failure. The real issue is when leaders:

  • Post boring, AI-generated content

  • Don’t engage with the people who engage with them

  • Expect inbound with no consistency

Inbound happens, but it happens over time.

Our LinkedIn Predictions for 2026

Here’s where the platform is headed:

As AI makes generic content easier to produce, human stories and real perspective will dominate.

2. Video DMs will get the highest response rates.

We’re in executive inboxes all day. Less than 1% of messages are video and responses are significantly higher.

3. In-person wins.

In a world of Zoom fatigue, the leaders who use LinkedIn to set up real dinners, coffees, and small gatherings will stand out.

4. LinkedIn will become the best sales channel for executive demand gen.

There are only so many phone calls and emails people can send. LinkedIn is an entirely new way to sell.

Start planting seeds now, and watch what happens over the next year:

  • Conversations become warm

  • Relationships deepen

  • Opportunities emerge

  • Revenue grows

All from showing up consistently and authentically.

2026 will belong to the leaders who treat LinkedIn the right way.
