If you’ve followed this newsletter for several months, you know how bullish I am on LinkedIn.
I believe there are 4 main channels for generating new business:
In-Person Events (the best if you can do it)
Email
Phone
LinkedIn
Out of those four, LinkedIn is by far the one that the least amount of sellers are doing correctly.
Let’s dive in.

Today’s Topic - How to use LinkedIn to sell
LinkedIn shouldn’t be used to sell.
This might be ironic coming from the LinkedIn for sales guy, but let me explain.
LinkedIn shouldn't be used to sell... at first.
For B2B sales, you should use LinkedIn as a way to get a conversation where you can potentially sell someone 3+ months down the road.
Your job on LinkedIn is to provide something so valuable that you bring that person into your world.
1. Add them as a connection
2. Generate good content targeted at that specific ICP
3. Send them a direct message providing value specifically for them
4. Develop trust where you focus exclusively on helping them
5. Trust that the long game will work out
You need a long-term focus to sell in B2B.
This is the same for selling using LinkedIn.
