Last week, I had the opportunity to speak with over 100+ insurance sales professionals in Scottsdale, Arizona about how they can use LinkedIn to generate new opportunities.

My big takeaway - so many sales professionals aren’t utilizing it well enough.

There are 4 major channels for business development:

  1. Phone

  2. Email

  3. In-Person

  4. LinkedIn

Most people over-emphasize email and don’t spend enough time on LinkedIn.

Today’s Topic - How Sales Professionals Should Use LinkedIn

I’ve been fortunate to do several workshops in 2024 for sales teams and organizations on "How to use LinkedIn Effectively for Sales."

I have loved answering the questions from these individuals, learning about what is working for them, and sharing ideas to help them generate new opportunities.

LinkedIn is such an underutilized tool for sales professionals.

BUT, there is no silver bullet and no easy way to do it.

We talk about 5 major things that will help them to have success on the platform:

1. Always be a human

2. Always focus on providing value

3. Never sell in the first message

4. Stick with it for 6+ months to have success

5. Utilize the video feature with a personalized message
