Many people that I talk to struggle with how to engage prospects on LinkedIn.

They receive horrible spam messages like we all do and so they don’t see any examples of what “good” looks like.

Here’s what I always advise them to do and my strategy that I’ve used to help secure hundreds of meetings with prospects.

Today’s Topic - The Optimal LinkedIn Outreach Strategy

If you’ve been following this newsletter for a few months, you know I like to keep things simple.

The more simple it is, I believe, the more likely you are to repeat it and stick with it.

Here is my 5-step strategy for bringing new prospects into your world from LinkedIn.

1. Connect with them but don't send a message unless you have a specific connection

2. A few days later send a message to build rapport, not sales-related at all, related to their alma mater or some connection point you can find

3. Comment thoughtfully on their content if they create content

4. Send a request for ~15-30 minutes to provide them value, make it all about them, and ensure it's a free offer.

5. Follow up and make it specific about them so they know it's not an AI-generated message

You do this and you'll separate yourself from 99% of people trying to sell on LinkedIn.
