What a New Hires First Month Should Look Like

There’s a good chance a potential new hire will ask you what their first month on the job will look like.
And there’s a high probability that if they are doing so, they have multiple offers.
You’ll want to answer them well so you ensure you get them.
Here’s what you can share:
Consistent check-ins with their manager
The most effective way to get this individual engaged early is to create a strong rapport with their manager.
The manager of the new hire should be meeting with this new individual at least twice a week through the first month.
There's a lot to comprehend when you begin a new role and it can feel like drinking from a fire hose.
Condense that information down into what they can accomplish in 30, 60, and 90 days.
30 days - learning
60 days - contributing
90 days - owning
Prioritize the people
Even if your company isn't large, you will want to provide them with an order of the people they need to meet with.
A solid goal would be meeting with ~3-5 new people per week.
Give them questions that they can ask but also encourage them to be curious.
Set up goals
You'll want to create goals from an accountability perspective.
The manager is busy and needs to know if this new hire is being successful.
Create a mechanism to store the goals for the new hire and have an easy way to revert back to them.
Figure out development areas
Nobody comes in perfect and it'll be your job to train this individual.
You'll use this first month to identify where there are gaps and how you can support them.
Giving examples here of ways you've supported others can be a great recruiting tool.
