Dad Reflections after 6 Months with a Baby

Sharing some personal thoughts today

Welcome to The Revenue Generator

Hey there, it’s Harris!

Welcome to the Revenue Generator where (usually) I share 1 tactic each week that you can implement to help you generate more revenue.

This week is going to be a little different.

I want you to also know me personally so today I’m going to share some personal news.

About 7 months ago, I had a tweet https://twitter.com/HarrisFanaroff/status/1632738821941985281 that went viral with over 1.4 Million views, and thousands of direct messages.

My baby boy just turned 6 months so I’m going to share 13 things I’ve learned so far.

If you’re a parent, let me know your thoughts and/or forward this along to any new parent or soon-to-be parent that you think would find this valuable!

Today’s Topic - 13 Things I’ve Learned in 6 Months as a New Dad

My first baby just turned 6 months last week.

Here are 13 things I’ve learned so far:

1. Women are superheroes for everything that they do and have to go through in becoming/being a Mom.

2. It was really hard for me until he could smile/engage at around the three-month mark.

3. People will give you a lot of advice that probably won’t work for your baby.

4. The cliches about time are really accurate - long days, quick months.

5. Taking time to focus on your relationship with your partner makes you better parents. You need those date nights however you can get them.

6. Having grandparents who can and want to help is an absolute game-changer.

7. Babies are sick consistently especially if they’re in daycare

8. It's hard to explain but watching your baby do things (even the smallest things) for the first time is so cool. Watching our boy look at trees and be amazed was incredible.

9. You’ll find a few things that save you in the beginning - ours was a swing. It got him to nap when the bassinet wouldn’t. Keep trying until you find “your baby's thing.”

10. You’re going to worry unlike you’ve ever worried before and it’s constant.

11. I didn’t appreciate what my friends who were already parents were going through before I was a parent and probably didn’t check in enough. I’m trying to be better with my friends who are new Dads and was lucky to have some amazing new Dads help me.

12. Starting a business with a newborn probably wasn’t the best idea but I’m excited about everything it’ll eventually teach him.

13. I consider myself to be a pretty patient person in life but I struggle with it with my son. I need to be more patient and it’s something being a father has taught me.

And most of all, I’m grateful.

Grateful for my wife, for my baby, and for our friends/family that have helped us so much over the past 6 months.

It’s hard work, but it’s 1000% worth it.

Getting Started with LinkedIn

I created a guide to help you get started with LinkedIn.

It gives you everything you need to set your profile up for success, send direct messages to your ideal client, and begin generating revenue from LinkedIn.

What I'm Reading:

This is a go-to newsletter for staying sharp on AI.

I love how quickly it gives me everything I need to know.

How we can work together:

  1. LinkedIn Agency for Executives - If you are an Executive or work with an Executive that you think could benefit from posting more on LinkedIn, I’d be happy to talk.

I’ve spent 2+ years understanding how the algorithm works and how you can generate more business opportunities and find new talent by being active and creating content.

  2. Use AI Effectively to Generate More Revenue - I’m in the process of creating an on-demand course on how you can use AI to sell more effectively. Send me a message if you’d like to be added to the list to receive access for you and/or your team!
