  • INNOVATE: Save thousands in turnover costs with new hire onboarding

  • INTEREST: The process for adding a new hire to your organization

WHAT WE LOVE:

IQ gets you the job.

EQ gets you promoted.

All of us have the ability to develop our EQ and get better at all of these components.

All it takes is an intentional focus on this and holding yourself accountable.

Let's dive in 👇

  1. Interpersonal Relationships

Creating relationships based on trust and compassion.

Action - Smile and maintain eye contact, use open body language, and practice gratitude.

Thank people for their time after meeting with you.

  2. Stress Tolerance

Your ability to cope with stressful situations.

Starting a new job is no doubt stressful, but how you handle it will make a difference.

Action - When you start to feel nervous/anxious, get up, stretch, and walk around.

  3. Flexibility

Adapting emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to unfamiliar situations.

You are going to be put into a lot of unfamiliar situations as you start a new job.

Action - Actively listen to your new colleagues and push yourself to change your mind about something.

   4. Optimism

A positive outlook on life.

You're going to fail and fail often when you start a new job.

Staying positive will attract other people.

Action - Picture and write down a positive future with this organization. Actually write it down and say it out loud.

   5. Assertiveness

Effectively holding to your beliefs and feelings.

It's hard to stand up for yourself when you feel new and unsure of yourself.

It also shows your confidence and will make an impact.

Action - Find a decision you disagree with and state why you disagree.

WHERE WE SEE INNOVATION:

I was recently featured on the "Scale Your SaaS" podcast with Matt Wolach.

In the episode, I share how to save thousands in turnover costs through great employee onboarding.

I talk about the difference between HR vs the Hiring Manager in employee onboarding, and how it's important to be intentional about who owns each aspect.

Would love to hear your thoughts if you get a chance to listen!

WHAT INTERESTS US:

There are so many different aspects of bringing on a new hire.

I created this picture to show how they all work together.

Let me know what you think and if you have any additions!
