We are lucky to work every day with some of the smartest business development professionals out there.

And I’m noticing a trend from some of them.

I wanted to share it more broadly here.

Today’s Topic - Become the Chief Community Officer for your Prospects

Be the Chief Community Officer for your ICP (ideal customer profile).

All of our best clients are pretty intentional about this, meaning they are consistently convening their ICP together.

For example, we have a couple clients who sell to HR and it's really hard to sell to HR. So what several of our clients do is they put on executive events with valuable thought leaders in different cities all over the world.

And then the outreach becomes like, "Hey, Tony, want to invite you to an intimate dinner with 10 of your peers that we're going to be having in New York City and we have this thought leader coming." And it's like, "Yeah, I want to go to that" versus, “Hey, come work with me for XYZ.”

My goal is to utilize LinkedIn to take somebody from ice cold to a little bit warmer.

And in that process they're going to hear about what I do and hopefully they're interested.

And in this process I'm going to plant enough of those seeds that good things are going to happen.

It's kind of related to becoming the person in your space where every time somebody comes to your LinkedIn page they’re going to get value.

This is something I've been preaching a ton about, especially in an increasingly AI world.

The Chief Community Officer for your ICP inside companies is a role that I think we will see more and more of.

I think it's especially massive in an AI world where we can send 100,000 messages and not get a response.
