While I normally share ideas around ways to generate revenue, I want to share one of the best employee engagement ideas I’ve ever heard.

This is my favorite executive employee engagement idea I’ve ever heard of.

The CEO of a 50-person company got the phone number of one of his top employee’s father.

The father, he knew, had a terminal illness and less than a year to live.

The CEO called and left a 2-minute voice message for the father about how amazing his son was and how they did such a great job raising him.

The employee said the voicemail was on his father’s phone when he passed and that he told his son that he listened to it every day.

Such a cool idea and so powerful.
