Welcome to the Revenue Generator where I (usually) share 1 tactic each week that you can implement to help you generate more revenue.
Today isn’t about generating more revenue, but it’s about recruiting. Our team at Linked Revenue is growing and last week I did 8 interviews.
I reflected on what I learned and shared it last week on LinkedIn and got 50,000+ people sharing their feelings with me - some positive and some negative.
Thought I’d share it below to get your thoughts as well.

Today’s Topic - 5 Hot Takes on Recruiting
I might be old school, but a few things that are pretty big dealbreakers for me when I interview a candidate:
Not sending a thank you note
I cannot comprehend somebody being interested in a job and not taking the time to send a thoughtful thank you note within 24 hours of a job interview
Not bringing energy into the conversation
Please, please, please do not be monotone. This is your opportunity to show what you will be like with clients
Not doing your research on the company
I've asked "So what do you know about Linked Revenue?" And gotten answers that don't make any sense
Not having a good story if you've been unemployed for a while
Telling me you've been hanging out for a few months and really searching for the right opportunity is a massive red flag
Not showing up on time
I understand we're all busy AND... don't show up 2 or 3 minutes late for an interview.
A lot of the headlines say it's really hard to find a job and I'd argue that if you do things the right way, I'm not sure how true that is. So few people focus on providing value early in a job interview and that is a MASSIVE differentiator.
