Our company has grown pretty significantly in the last year.

I started the business in September of 2023 and we are about to be at 12 people as we move toward the end of the month.

I’ve made many mistakes along the way but wanted to share 10 things I’ve learned.

Today’s Topic - 10 Lessons I’ve Learned from Growing Our Company

1. The first 3 people you hire are so incredibly important

2. You have to figure out early what people care about

3. Finding time for the personal to kick off a conversation is important even if you don’t want to do it

4. Figure out peoples strengths and get them to work on those. It’s a win for the business and for that person

5. The original role you create for someone won’t be what they end up doing & that’s okay. You have to pivot

6. Some days you’ll feel really good and other days you’ll feel like it’s all crashing down

7. If you treat your people well, they’ll want to treat customers well

8. Treat people like adults and give them leeway until they prove they can’t do it

9. Having an audience on LinkedIn makes finding good people so much easier

10. If there is a red flag in the interview process it’s definitely going to show up later. Don’t make the hire
