10 things I believe to be true

Reflections on my 33rd year of life

Welcome to The Revenue Generator

Hey there, it’s Harris!

Welcome to the Revenue Generator where I (usually) share 1 tactic each week that you can implement to help you generate more revenue.

I rarely find time to reflect on everything going on in my life.

My birthday is a time I use for this.

So last week was my birthday and I took some time to reflect on 10 things I believe to be true.

Today’s Topic - 10 things I believe to be true

1. The most important choice you make in life is who you marry and your spouse is the most important relationship in your life.

2. Basically every stereotype about kids is true. What I've noticed ~2 years into the journey is what everyone says, "It's the hardest and best thing you'll ever do."

3. When you actually get to know somebody, there's a good chance they are going through something really difficult that you have no idea about.

4. Having grandparents who want to help with your kids is an absolute game-changer and makes life so much easier.

5. Business and entrepreneurship are really hard. If they were easy then everybody would do it. You have to do hard things for a long period of time if you want to have a lot of success.

6. People buy from people and you can't sell in a first meeting. The best business people I know are relentless relationship builders. They plant thousands of business development seeds that sprout at different times. This is the metaphor behind our business.

7. I have a lot of work to do in navigating the highs and lows of business. Relating to number 1, I'm lucky to have a spouse who helps me through these.

8. Nothing builds a connection like meeting with someone in person. I do whatever I can to get out of Zoom and to a face-to-face meeting.

9. Being likable is the most important trait in business. If you're likable, work hard, and say what you're going to do - there's a good chance you're going to have success in whatever you do.

10. You have to be intentional about relationships, both in business and life. I put notifications on my calendar to check in with people. Life gets in the way and we all get busy, this holds me accountable. I also know I can be better with this, it's especially hard when you don't live close to old friends.

I don't have it all figured out, not even close, and I know I have a lot to learn, but I have a lot to be grateful for.

Excited for what's in store for this next year of life!
